An update from Flamstead Parish Council:
Dear Residents,
We wanted to provide a brief update following the recent High Court hearing regarding the site at Friendless Lane.
The hearing focused on whether the current injunction should remain in place and the extent to which occupation of the site had taken place prior to the injunction being granted.
Dacorum Borough Council presented evidence highlighting:
- The rapid development of the site over the Easter weekend
- Continued works and activity following the injunction
- Concerns regarding the accuracy and consistency of evidence provided in support of occupation claims
The defendants’ legal representatives argued that occupation of the site had already taken place prior to the injunction and raised arguments relating to Article 8 human rights considerations.
At the conclusion of the hearing, the Judge confirmed that he would reserve judgment, meaning a decision will be issued following further consideration of the evidence and legal arguments presented.
Current Position
- The legal process remains ongoing
- The Parish Council continues to liaise closely with:
- Dacorum Borough Council
- Hertfordshire Police
- Relevant agencies
At this stage, we await the Court’s decision and will provide a further update once this has been received and it is appropriate to do so.
