I am writing to tell you that we plan to carry out essential resurfacing on the M1 southbound junction 8 exit slip road leading to the A414 Hemel Hempstead. A lane closure will also be in place prior to the closure. Once complete, drivers will benefit from a better-defined road, a smoother road surface.
We plan to complete this work over two nights between Tuesday 12 August and Thursday 14 August 2025. We will work between 10pm and 5am, weather permitting.
Closures and diversions
To carry out the work safely, we will need to close the M1 southbound junction 8 exit slip road leading to Hemel Hempstead, and divert traffic as follows:
Traffic will be diverted via the A414 to St Albans Park Street Roundabout and return to junction 8.
