From National Highways:
On Thursday 6 February, I sent out an email with an e-bulletin letting you know about our overnight closures for the M1 junctions 10 to 13 safety enhancement scheme. Following a programme review, we will no longer be closing the M1 southbound between junction 11a to 9 on Saturday 15 February 2025.
Please find below an amended traffic management bulletin for Friday 14 February to the morning of Saturday 1 March 2025.
We kindly ask that drivers follow the signed diversion routes which is shown on our website and displayed on the local roads on the day of the closures. The diversion routes are chosen as they can deal with all motorway traffic in the event of planned roadworks, or any unplanned incidents that may occur, which result in a closure of the motorway.
Friday 14 February for 1 night:
- Full overnight closure of M1 junction 11a to 10 Southbound
- Northbound: Hard shoulder, lanes 1 and 2 closed between junctions 11a and 12
- Southbound: Lanes 2 and 3 closed between junctions 11 and 10
Monday 17 February for 5 nights:
- Junction 13 exit slip road closed southbound.
- Southbound: Hard shoulder, lane 1 and 2 closed between junctions 14 to 13
Monday 24 February 2025 for 1 night:
- Northbound: Hard shoulder, lanes 1 and 2 closed between junctions 11a and 13
Tuesday 25 February 2025 for 1 night:
- Southbound: Hard shoulder, lanes 1 and 2 closed between junctions 13 and 12
- Junction 13 entry slip road closed southbound
Wednesday 26 February 2025 for 1 night:
- Southbound: Hard shoulder, lanes 1 and 2 closed between junctions 11 and 10
Thursday 27 February 2025 for 1 night:
- Northbound: Hard shoulder, lanes 1 and 2 closed between junctions 11a and 13
Friday 28 February 2025 for 1 night:
- Southbound: Hard shoulder, lanes 1 and 2 closed between junctions 13 and 12
The precise dates and times of the works may be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. Where possible, we’ll keep you updated of significant changes. Please note this bulletin does not include any emergency closures that may be needed during this period.
The closures can only be installed once traffic flows are at their lowest.
