An update from Flamstead Parish Council:
Following this week’s Flamstead Parish Council AGM, we are aware that many residents left feeling understandably concerned and looking for clearer reassurance.
Firstly, we want to reassure you that the situation continues to be actively managed, and the Parish Council remains in close and ongoing communication with:
- Dacorum Borough Council
- Dacorum Police
- Victoria Collins
Why Some Questions Couldn’t Be Answered
We recognise that not all questions were fully answered at the meeting, particularly around what happens next.
This is not due to a lack of action or information.
- The Council is currently taking advice from a highly experienced barrister who specialises in cases of this nature
- This legal advice is guiding what can and cannot be shared publicly
- In some cases, providing detail could risk prejudicing the ongoing legal proceedings
In simple terms, some information must be handled carefully to ensure the strongest possible case is maintained.
Clarity on Next Steps
We also appreciate that the process going forward was not clearly set out at the meeting.
- The Parish Council is in ongoing communication with Dacorum Borough Council
- We have formally requested a clear timeline of next steps, including:
- What will happen next
- The legal process ahead
- The possible scenarios going forward
As soon as we are able to share further detail, we will update residents immediately.
This Weekend – What We Know
We are aware of concerns and reports that further activity may be attempted over the weekend, including potential deliveries of materials.
While we cannot control activity directly, we can ensure it is reported quickly and escalated appropriately.
What To Do If You See Activity
If you observe:
- Lorries delivering materials
- Tarmac or hardcore being laid
- Any activity that appears unsafe or unlawful
Please take the following steps:
- Contact Police
- 999 – if a crime is in progress or there is immediate danger
- 101 – for non-emergency reporting
- Inform the Parish Council Immediately
