The latest update from the Leader of Dacorum Borough Council, published on Monday evening:
Monday 6 April 18:30: I’m sorry to report that the High Court Injunction served on the site yesterday has not been observed and further works and the introduction of static homes has been reported during today.
Any evidence of breaches of the injunction should be emailed to planning.enforcement@dacorum.gov.uk.
Dacorum Borough Council is continuing to assess this evolving situation and consider any further necessary legal steps. I hope to provide further details tomorrow.
The Police have been in attendance to support DBC staff serve notices and to maintain public order and safety.
I urge everyone to remain calm and respectful and where possible to avoid approaching the site.Sunday 19:25: I’m very pleased to share the following from Dacorum Borough Council:
Today, 5 April, Dacorum Borough Council submitted an application to the court for an emergency injunction for the site. This order was successfully granted by the court and the Council has now served the papers on the site today prohibiting any unauthorised works or use of the site.
The Court Hearing is scheduled for 15 April.
I’d like to personally thank all the staff at Dacorum Borough Council who, with the support of Flamstead Parish Council, Dacorum Police, county, ward and parish councillors and residents, have worked so hard to successfully secure the Temporary Stop Notice and Injunction over this Easter bank holiday weekend.
Sunday 14:30: These works are unauthorised and a serious breach of the planning process. We are progressing an injunction to stop further works. It is an evolving situation and staff from the council are on site with the police to assess the situation.
We will have a further update later this afternoon.
Update: I share residents’ devastation that the Temporary Stop Notice has been ignored and caravans have entered and occupied the site.
Dacorum Borough Council will continue to use the legal processes available to resolve this matter.
