Update: Ongoing Activity at Land off Friendless Lane
Flamstead Parish Council is aware that deliveries have resumed again this morning at the site off Friendless Lane, with further materials being brought onto the land and works continuing.
Current situation (LIVE)
- Additional lorry deliveries are taking place this morning
- Groundworks and hardstanding are continuing
- The scale of activity now represents a significant and ongoing development
Planning position
- The land is within the Green Belt and nan Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB)
- There is no known planning permission for these works
- This has been reported as a serious and ongoing breach of planning control
What the Parish Council is doing
The Parish Council is continuing to take urgent action:
- Providing live updates and evidence to Dacorum Borough Council
- Escalating the matter to senior officers, including the Chief Executive
- Requesting immediate enforcement intervention, including a Temporary Stop Notice
- Raising the need for potential legal action, including an injunction
- Remaining in contact with local District Councillors and our MP, Victoria Collins
- Liaising with the police, who are aware of the situation
Police involvement
The police have been informed. Their role is to:
- Monitor the situation
- Ensure public safety
- Support enforcement where required
