From Flamstead Parish Council:
We wanted to provide a brief update regarding the site at Friendless Lane.
We can confirm that the caravans have now left the site and the land is currently clear of residential occupation.
This is clearly a very positive and significant development, and we know it will provide some much-needed reassurance to residents after what has been an incredibly difficult few months for the village.
However, there is still work to be done. The site has been left in a condition which will need to be addressed, including the extensive hardstanding and other works that have taken place.
The Parish Council is therefore following this up urgently with Dacorum Borough Council to establish what happens next, what action will be taken in relation to restoring the land, who will be responsible for that work and the likely timescales.
At this stage, we don’t want to speculate or give residents timescales until we have received confirmation from the relevant authorities.
For now, however, we wanted residents to know that the caravans have left and the site is currently clear. This is an important and very welcome step forward. As a village, please continue to be vigilant around the site and report any further developments if required via the relevant channels.
We will provide a further update as soon as we have confirmed information regarding the next stage and the future of the site.
