Supporting local projects focusing on protecting the environment, tackling climate change, and encouraging local community engagement.
Grants of £3,000, £5,000 and £10,000 are available.
In our previous funding round (2024-2025), more than £75,000 was successfully awarded to 13 community projects across the borough, supporting schools, churches, charities and local groups to deliver practical environmental improvements.
These include:
Nash Mills Church of England Primary School:
Installed solar panels to reduce energy costs, cut carbon emissions and teach students and local community groups about renewable energy and sustainability.
Wigginton Biodiversity Enhancements Project:
Collaborated with St Bartholomew’s Church and Wigginton Primary School to plant native trees, install wildlife boxes, and create habitats to enhance local biodiversity.
Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust:
Improved Aldbury Nowers Nature Reserve by introducing conservation sheep grazing and volunteer-led habitat work to protect wildflowers, butterflies, and other chalk grassland species.
Brockswood Primary School:
More than 200 pupils are getting hands-on with nature growing their own food, learning how to care for the environment, and creating a vibrant outdoor space for the whole community to enjoy.
