Important roadworks information
A5 Full Carriageway Closure – Hockliffe to Flying Fox Roundabout – Hazardous tree removal works
I’m writing to tell you that we plan to carry out removal works for hazardous trees and road safety on the A5 between Hockliffe and the Flying Fox Roundabout. Once complete, drivers will benefit from a safer, smoother and better-defined road surface.
We plan to complete this work over four nights starting on Monday 27 October 2025 (tonight). We’ll be working between 8pm and 6am, weather permitting.
Closures and diversions
To carry out the work safely, we will need to close A5 between Hockliffe and the Flying Fox Roundabout, traffic will be diverted as follows:
- Drivers travelling southbound from Kelly’s Kitchen Roundabout should travel via the A4146 around Leighton Buzzard
- Continue driving along the A4146 to join the A505
- Follow the A505 to rejoin the A5 through Hockliffe
- Northbound drivers should follow the same route in reverse
