It has come to our attention that thieves are targeting some “keyless” vehicles to steal them, using a new and possibly developing method, which involves exposing a plug usually located behind the front bumper and light cluster, where a device can be plugged in which will act as an “emergency start” and start the vehicle!
To expose this plug, thieves will need to partially remove some or all of the bumper, particularly around the front near-side.
A 69 Lexus was recently targeted in the Highfield area, however, the alarm activated and the thieves fled.
It may be worth contacting your local car mechanic, or conducting your own research in to whether your car is vulnerable, and how it can be better secured.
